WELKIN ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS
3 of Australian metals rising stars join forces for a Triple CD Launch!
Date: Saturday, April 21
Venue: The Tote Hotel, Collingwood (Cnr Johnston and Wellington sts)
Entry: $12
Doors: 7:30pm
Fresh from supporting US death metal legends Suffocation in February, Ne Obliviscaris, in only 12 months on the live scene, have quickly established themselves as a band with not only a unique approach to metal (blending progressive, melodic and extreme styles with virtuosic violin playing and featuring ‘The Fastest Feet In Australia’ as decided by the Australian ‘World’s Fastest Drummer’ Competition in 2006), but also an ability to develop an ever growing, passionate fan base. Launching their first ever recording, “The Aurora Veil" Demo, and with a 60 minute plus set planned for the night. This will be the definitive NeO experience.
Be’lakor’s intricate mix of melody, dark atmospheres and death metal has seen them garner much attention for themselves in recent times. After first hitting the live scene in late 2005, they spent much of 2006 away in the studio working on their first release; the result being an amazing debut EP, The Frail Tide, which clocks in at an impressive 42 minutes; and is due to be unveiled on this evening.
Making their first ever trip down to Melbourne, Queensland’s Empyrean, will be bringing their brand of symphonic black/death metal to the Tote to launch their debut EP, ‘The Embodiment of Sin.’ Having already graced the stage of Brisbane’s leading metal festival ‘Overcranked’ and played with the likes of Dark Tranquility (Swe), Insision (Swe), Iron Lung (USA), Vader (April 2007), and with a reputation for a blistering live show, this is one ‘first’ that is not to be missed.
Joining Ne Obliviscaris, Be’lakor and Empyrean on the night will be: Moredhel; the female fronted, 6-piece symphonic/melodic death metal band on the verge of releasing their debut album [recorded at Complex Studios- Melbourne and being mixed/mastered by Dan Swano (Opeth/Bloodbath)]; and Augur; a relatively new, but highly impressive progressive death metal band that in its short time on the scene has already begun to establish quite a following.
